Profiles and permissions are an integral part of the Atlas platform as they allow you to control what other users of the platform can and cannot see when they log in.
The best way to change someone’s permissions is by going to the users area:
Company > Users – select the relevant user > Actions > Edit ISO permissions.
Make sure you select a pre-set permission profile from the drop-down list, before selecting any additional permissions. The key profiles are described as:
ISO Service Owner – this is the highest level of ISO permissions which gives access to all ISO elements of the platform. This profile is typically used by users who are responsible for managing the ISO and require access to manage users, edit management system documents, and allocate tasks.
ISO General User – this is the next step down from an ISO Service Owner. Users with this profile will be able to view all documentation and update existing templates but will be restricted from editing Processes and Policies and creating new templates. Users with this profile are unable to access or edit company information, users, or other users’ tasks.
ISO System Viewer – this is the most restricted level of access. Users with this profile will be able to view Processes, Policies and templates but will not be able to edit them.
In cases where you need to have more flexibility, or one of our profiles doesn’t quite do what you need, the permissions can be customised by selecting individual tick boxes. When doing this, you do always need to have a profile assigned first, but you should start with a lower-level profile and work upwards because it’s not possible to remove permissions that are applied as part of a profile (you will see these grey ticks, whereas manually added permissions will display as green ticks).
Hover over each of the permissions to see a further description about what it will give access to. After changing any permissions, the user that has been updated will always need to log out and back in again to see the changes on their account.
